God gave to me the Sabbath Day
To worship Him and to obey.
To praise His name and laugh and pray;
God gave to me the Sabbath Day.
Before there was a Jewish race,
God put the weekdays in their place.
The seventh day was His day of grace;
Before there was a Jewish race.
The seventh day He set aside
That He might thus be glorified
And in His Word I’m satisfied;
The seventh day He set aside.
Yes, God gave me a Sabbath rest;
A special day that he hath blest;
I keep it now at His request!

The Bible states it loud and clear!
I find it ringing in my ear;
It’s plain enough for all to hear,
The Bible states it loud and clear.
It doesn’t speak of Sunday peace
Nor does the Sabbath ever cease!
The Word of God in its release
It doesn’t speak of Sunday peace.
The Bible is both Old and New
No matter what my point of view!
God blessed the seventh day it’s true;
The Bible is both Old and New.

A special day my Lord hath blest.
