It is no surprise that sickness and disease can originate in a body that has a spirit which is dead. We know that sin causes spiritual death and separates us from God.

We know all have sinned…

We live in a world of sin. Until we shed this earthly body to reside in Heaven, we know that all who accept Jesus Christ as Savior are dead in Christ. We know that by His stripes we are healed. So, how can we access the healing those stripes have granted?

We know that fear, the byproduct of sin, separates us from God, and prevents access to healing. The medicines and remedies of this world can cause comfort and alleviate of some of the fear and anxiety that overtake us when we face the prospect of sickness, disease, and death. However, there are times when we are alone or separated from the physical help that we have come to rely on. At that time, what can we do?

There are temporary fixes. There is long-term maintenance. And there is complete healing. Why? Because according to our faith, we receive our healing. With prayer, all things are possible and any remedy can work.

When you are in an emergency health situation, it is normal for fear to overtake you. The primary goal at that time is to gain control over fear before it causes

a breakdown of body systems. For instance, when a person is rushed to the hospital with any condition that does not involve rapid loss of blood, the individual is given a drug or combination of drugs with the purpose of bringing some form of relaxation to the problem area. This decreases anxiety and fear—and causes a stabilization of the body systems. After that, tests are run to determine the problem and course of action.

Prayer has the power to lower blood pressure and blood sugar, decrease anxiety and fear, relieve tension, and decrease pain. Prayer focuses your attention outside of self and towards God. This lifts you out of a state of fear and into a state of grace. So, when faced with an emergency health situation, use prayer to lift you above your state of fear, so you can function clearly enough to get the help you need.
