Another conference has come and gone. Dr. Ken Chroniger poured his heart into the theme and purpose of “Family, Faith, and Education.” We were blessed to share in the many facets of understanding how our family is so very important and influences our faith and our faith establishes deep roots through learning and education. I am personally grateful for the opportunity to have been his “wing woman” and learn more about Conference proceedings, pound the mallet a couple times— and finally receive the ultimate blessing as I stood surrounded by a multitude of past presidents. They offered me prayers and support as I was transitioned into the denominational presidency for this coming Conference year. I’m blessed.

I am humbled, anxious, and excited as I walk into the 2016-2017 Conference responsibilities. “Life on Mission” is my theme. I believe that this focus is divinely inspired and timely for our people. It will be a journey that can be easily applied if we are willing to love and connect those who are so very close and within our reach. You see “Life on Mission” is really following as again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” John 20:21 (NIV). God has called each one of us to a life on mission as we apply the simple gifts and talents He has given us — reaching out with the love of Jesus to those who intersect our life work, our close community, our children’s friends and families. Simply stated, right where God planted us on this earth… that’s where He wants you to live on mission for HIM!

Ephesians 3:14-21 has been my life scripture since I met Jesus in a personal way when I was 15 years old. “14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen” (NIV).

This is my prayer for each one of you — that you would be strong for Jesus, filled up with God’s love, be able to hold on to the magnitude of the love that Christ has for you, and then overflow that love on others so that they too can know Jesus as we do! He will accomplish more that we can ever imagine through faith and HIS power at work within us!!! Come walk this journey with me as we boldly transform our “Life on Mission” for Jesus.
